JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE SHRINE

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was one of my first few animes that I really enjoyed. It was there for me through times that were good and bad and is overall one of my comfort shows XD. It is a story about members of the Joestar bloodline and the bizarre condundrums they face from the effect the stone mask and Dio.

It was my sibling that first introduced this epic saga to me. The unique and wacky-ness of the story intrigued me... and not to mention the characters are great too. Everytime I was working on a project I would blast the intro songs and annoy the heck out of everyone.

For some time the only thing I could talk about was JJBA and that annoyed the heck out of everyone as well (okay, maybe I'm just a really annoying person lol.)

Anywho, I finally get to ramble as much as I want about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure here and not bother anyone (hopefully.)

So... starting off with ranking my favorite parts from top to bottom.

DIAMOND IS UNBREAKABLE

Alright... I think most JoJo fans don't usually have this as their favorite part but it's really special to me for a magnitude of reasons. First off, I'll talk about the characters. Josuke is my favorite Joestar because he was like a combination of the three previous protagonists' best traits. He inherited Jonathan's kindness and value for justice, Joseph's clever thinking and happy-go-lucky charm (but sometimes I felt that Joseph got a bit too carried away and acted a little too stupid sometimes...) Which is where some of Jotaro's seriousness comes in and despite being a delinquent he values friendship and is an overall good person despite being quite intimidating. The concept of his stand Crazy Diamond has endless potential for fun battles as well. Just don't insult his hair though XD. Another thing I enjoyed about this part is that a lot of characters previously thought of to be villains ended up becoming friends with the protagonist. This includes Okuyasu, Yuya, Hazamada, Yukako, Shigechi, Mikitaka, and Rohan. I also liked how Jotaro became a wise mentor figure to Josuke (even though Jotaro is technically his nephew.) I could honestly never get tired of the bizarre everyday happenings in Morioh. Next, onto the main conflict of this part, which would be the creep- I mean ordinary guy who is simply... really into hands. Yoshikage Kira makes a great villain because unlike the idea of Aztec warriors and vampires, vile murderers like him exist even today which honestly makes it even more frightening. Yoshikage Kira also sort of reminded me of myself because we both share a bad habit of tearing skin off our fingers until it bleeded. During that time I first watched JJBA I also felt similarly to what Hayato was going through, going home and feeling as if it were all just one big lie and that if I ever told the truth life as I know it would explode. That kind of stuff also really makes you feel as if you were stuck in a time loop. Every time I think of the city of Morioh I get nostalgic.

GOLDEN WIND

I didn't really like it at first but towards the end I think it really deserves to be top three on my list.

Some people find Giorno a bland protagonist but I think he just doesn't talk much because of his trauma. In the introduction he is shown to have Jonathan's heart with the act of kindness he did to those two strangers by returning on of their wallets but he is later shown to have Dio's brains when he took some of the money. Giorno's stand, Gold Experience was one of the most creative in my opinion. It was also a bit... too powerful so I feel like they weren't able to utilize its full strength that much. The gang had great characters, with Mista being my favorite. Because of him every time I see the number 4 I start getting bad vibes, haha. Bruno was JoBro of this part and was really cool too. I was like, "No way! He was the golden wind?!" Towards the ending of Golden Wind was when it really shined as the story and battles became more intense. How ironic it is that Polnareff, who spent so long in Stardust Crusaders searching for a normal toilet, that he became a bizarre toilet himself (the turtle). Dururururururu-click!

BATTLE TENDENCY

Ahh Battle Tendency... a fan favorite. I am going through the story again currently for the funnies too. For being one of the older JJBA parts it was quite ahead of it's time... Joseph was a cool and refreshing protagonist that kept the story funny and interesting. What's so cool about him is that he acts cocky and stupid but he actually has the skill and ability to back up his claims. Ceasar was also cool JoBro because I enjoyed the rivalry he had with Jojo. This part made some iconic memes like the Straizo fan letter and the whole pillar men thing and also.... Tequila Joseph... Fights in battle tendency kept you on the edge of your seat and the ending was really satisfying. My favorite character from this part is Joseph Joestar.

STARDUST CRUSADERS

Before getting into JJBA myself I remembered the summer when my sibling watched this part and I would hear the opening song STAND PROUD a lot and even now when I listen to it, the song really takes me back. The characters of this part were cool, especially Polnareff lol. I didn't get too attached to them, however. Jotaro was an okay protagonist. He's kind of like the tough edgy type that's actually a softie or something. I liked Jotaro better post Stardust Crusaders though. The idea of traveling around the world was fun and this part had an episodic way of storytelling rather than the previous parts. They would introduce a new stand user and wacky scenario each episode. This part is probably what most people would imagine when they think "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure". The end fight of Jotaro and DIO was legendary...

STONE OCEAN

Hmm Stone Ocean... While it was an interesting part at the time I stopped watching JJBA for a while and it didn't really seem like my kind of thing. The prison setting wasn't all that great in my opinion and the ending only made me really depressed, but it was needed in order for the author to write great parts like Steel Ball Run (I'm unfinished as of now) and others that I have yet to read. Jolyne was a little annoying at the beginning but towards the end she became more likable. I liked Foo Fighters and Weather Report (He has such a cool stand ability and cool personality!) the most. What really shined in this part was the unique stands. The ending was also quite beautiful despite being sad. Pucci was also a pretty neat villain. At the time I watched it I was in a sort of low state and thought that liking JJBA was cringe, which maybe affected how I enjoyed it. I'll have to watch it again sometime later so I can fully enjoy it.

PHANTOM BLOOD

In my opinion Jonathan isn't that bad of a Joestar as some people make him out to be but he is still a bit lackluster compared to the others. Though some parts felt a little sterotypical since it was one of Araki's earlier works, it was still a great start to the epic JJBA series. Speedwagon is still the best waifu XD
